Summer Skipper

Everyone is saying summer is winding down. I don't feel that way. I love summer. It feels a bit wasted though, this year. Where are the BBQs, where are the backyard parties? Where are the basement parties? Found the picnics - Tuesday nights in Royal City Park. What about the beach trips? The "just for fun" sports? The day trips? I suppose it's a transitional summer. But next summer, I'm making a checklist, and those things and more WILL all be checked off by September 1.
I've never seen The Endless Summer, but the artwork I love. Pink, orange and yellow, and a surfer. I've always wanted to learn to surf. I'll do that next summer as well. I also want to skate more. Oh, how I love this city, but the pavement just isn't skate worthy. In fact, the last few times I've tried to go cruising on my BEAUTIFUL blue madrid 24" board, I've wiped out. Nothing major, no worries, I wasn't injured. Just not smooth enough for those things.
What about parks? What about ice cream nights? Music blaring from car stereos? Am I just imagining it? No, I'm pretty sure these things happen in summer. Is it my obsession with the youthfulness of what it is to be a teenager, or can people who are just barely legal do that stuff also? Pretty sure I'm safe.
Well I did make it to my cottage once this year. Early in the season before much was open. It's pretty different there. It used to be sort of Dirty Dancing. Now it's more Bear Skin Rugs & Martinis.
Lots of family time, I think.
More books.
More drawings.
Less TV.
